Dāvids!

Dāvids!

Dāvids came to our association Cerību spārni (Wings of Hope) about 10 months ago. It was recommended to him from State Employment Agency. This is a place where he can improve and develop according to his skills, as well as spend his day meaningfully! Dāvids appreciates this opportunity and he is very happy about it.
On his first day he looked at the center rooms and he learned about the activities that happen there. He met other visitors and the staff as well. Dāvids saw the ceramic workshop and his eyes immediately sparkled and he didn’t want to do anything else. He likes the feeling of clay on his hands and the feeling of creating different things. He especially likes to form clay on the lathe and to shape bowls. He must learn a lot until he achieves the desired result because if he takes too much from the sides of the bowl, the clay breaks and everything needs to be corrected by attaching new clay. He sometimes gets angry if he hasn’t paid enough attention to the smoothing of the bowl and the work cracks. At the beginning he made small clay figures – angels and magnets. He draws stencils to make clay coasters to use in the kitchen. Dāvids jokes that the “dirty jobs” are closer to his heart because he has never suceeded in crafts.
In his spare time Dāvids loves to ride a bicycle and play voleyball, basketball or work out with his 3 brothers. His family loves to stay physically active. Dāvids likes to stay warm so in winter he prefers to run and it gives him positive feelings. He also helps his mother in crop harvesting. He reads books about esotericism that one of his brothers suggested. The book that he recommends reading is by author V. Siņeļņikovs Zemapziņas noslēpumi (The secrets of the Subconscious Mind). Dāvids loves to celebrate the holidays quietly, not like in the past; he thinks that you can celebrate every day because you're awake and can breathe!
