Agija!

Agija!

Agija met Eva, the head of association Cerību spārni (Wings of Hope), about two years ago. She showed her crafts to Eva and really wanted to become independent in her own life. That happened and Agija tried to build her life. She spends her days in the social enterprise Visi Var (Everyone Can).
Besides responsibilities in the company, she has acquired many different skills and she's very grateful that there has been such an opportunity! She knits a lot with her hands. Agija has knitted many sweaters, scarves, jackets, hats and headbands. She has also learned sewing skills with overlock machine. Some of the easier things that she has made are shopping bags and lamprey shaped toys. She is very proud that she had the opportunity to learn carpet weaving and with the support of her teacher Renāte, Agija has made five carpets. Recently she started to work on beading, by creating an angel decoration. Agija is happy to participate in arts and crafts markets where the enterprise Visi Var takes part, because she can tell about every item that has been created in the association and she has the opportunity to talk to tourists in English.
At the day centre Cerību spārni (Wings of Hope) she participates in dance collective. In her free time, Agija attends literature-related events, for example, Harmonija (Harmony) in Cēsis. There she reads her own poetry and listens to the works of others. Soon she'll need to get ready for the contest Nāc līdzās (Come along!) where she will read her poetry; it will take place in VEF Culture Palace on September 20.
She also loves to dress up and instead of flowers she would like to receive positive words and good wishes that help her to develop. Agija loves to help and give support to other people with disabilities. Agija is glad that she can work in such a responsive and positive team as Visi Var and she is proud to be from Sigulda!
