Inese!




Inese has been visiting association Cerību spārni (Wings of Hope) since 2003, when her life changed rapidly by getting disability group. As Inese received education at Murjāņi sports school, therefore she led a sports group for persons with disabilities. Sport is Inese’s whole life and she could talk about it a lot! Sport is her biggest passion and joy. Her father also engaged in sports. Inese has around 500 diplomas, 30 cups and 300 medals. Awards are held in various sports – shot put, discus throwing, running, darts.
With the support of the alliance of persons with disabilities and their friends “Apeirons”, Inese has completed courses to obtain carer’s qualification. Helping others gives Inese a great joy and she helps others every day at Cerību spārni. Inese helps children in maintenance and she does other domestic works as well. She has also mastered candle casting, felting and soap making, but from handicrafts she likes silk painting and beading the most. She gladly shows new silk scarfs and the new paints. Inese also participates in dancing and singing activities at the day centre. She would like to learn new songs and dance steps. Most of all, Inese would like to give sports lessons and help prepare for the competitions that are for people with disabilities. There have been several competitions, but now there is a pause in this area.
In her spare time not associated with the day centre or sport, Inese does crosswords and takes care of her dog Mailo. Sometimes she goes to the swimming pool. In the future Inese would like to learn woodworking as well as glass painting and attend horse therapy. Inese admit’s that it is difficult to tell about herself!
