Alise!

Alise!

Alise has been participating in day centre activities organised by the association Cerību spārni (Wings of Hope) since she was a little girl. Cerību māja (House of Hope) is her home, where she is warmly cared for by the staff. Alise comes from a large family with several brothers and sisters. She is especially close with her brother Kristers. Alise does not talk much with others, but when she suddenly speaks up her words are extremely precise and everyone is amazed by her great wisdom. She knows how to berate others who are not doing their work.
At the day centre, she enjoys breaking pieces of candles into smaller bits and arranging them in small containers. It is a slow and meditative process. Dancing, gymnastics and singing always puts her in a good mood. Her favourite song is Dievs Tevi mīl (God loves you) by Nikolajs Puzikovs, but her favourite musician is Lauris Reiniks. Especially for Alise, the radio station Latvijas radio 2 (Latvian radio 2) is put on at Cerību māja (House of Hope) where she lives, so that she can listen to Latvian music. She loves to help with harvesting produce — cucumbers, courgettes and beans are carefully stacked in jars and preserved for winter. Alise also helps with removing sprouts from potatoes, which has proven to be quite a time-consuming process.
In her spare time Alise loves to talk on the phone, read fashion magazines, as well as to use perfume and put on makeup. She can quickly put together the pieces of a large jigsaw puzzle. She enjoys spending time at the day centre, but while at home she likes playing on the swing, and wants to receive lots of hugs and attention. Alise is always in a good mood, she smiles often and is a friendly girl.
