Tālis!

Tālis!

Tālis comes from a large family — he has six sisters and two brothers. Since his mother passed away a year ago, he has been living at Cerību māja (House of Hope). It is his home; it is where his friends are and their day centre is where he spends his time. He is a very helpful young man and smiles a lot. He is happy to help with cleaning and similar activities at Cerību spārni. Tālis picked and sorted all the apples which were later made into a jam to eat during the winter months. Cherry plums were also preserved into a jam for winter. Tālis really likes sweets, but nevertheless they should not be consumed in extreme amounts!
Tālis visits the day-centre every day because he likes the classes it offers. He beads with great interest, since this process gives him the greatest contentment. Currently he is making a bracelet in honour of November 18th — the Proclamation Day of the Republic of Latvia. Tālis would also like to try his hand at making bracelets for men. He has also participated in making mugs at the ceramics department. During moments of rest when everyone comes together, singing and dancing classes are organized. Tālis is a very friendly young man who loves to smile a lot. He knows how to line dance, and one of his other interests is baking pastries. He really loves the music of Mārtiņš Ruskis which is why he would like to go to his concert. He joyfully awaits festivities and loves to prepare for them. He can read and write a little. He reads the Bible and prays. Recently Tālis participated in a three day long camp at the guesthouse Debesu bļoda (Bowl of Heaven) in Ogre. There he sang, played games and watched an evening fireworks show together with other people. Tālis had enjoyed the camp so much that he had not wanted to leave. He had also made new friends.
