Kristiāna!

Kristiāna!

Kristiāna has been visiting the association Cerību spārni (Wings of Hope) and using the offered services for several years. Kristiāna has been receiving assistance in developing various skills, in taking care of herself and learning how to adapt to social situations. The association is helping her to learn domestic skills, as well as to perform household chores and upkeep the courtyard. Right now on the to-do list is leaf-raking in bags. She also has to keep her room clean as it is within her ability. Her favourite conversation partner here is Rūdolfs.
Kristiāna has been visiting the association’s Day Centre since she was 14 years old. She actively takes part in various classes! She breaks candles in pieces and organizes them into boxes, and currently she is working with white candles. She likes to cut the globs of soap out of which aromatic soaps of various scents are made. To keep things interesting she also makes balls of fabric that weavers use to make carpets. Changing activities takes time, so that she could turn her attention to the next task. In order for Kristiāna to feel safe, it is very important to have a stable daily routine that lets her feel sure about what is coming up next.
Kristiāna love to sing and dance together with her friends during the dance and music classes. Her biggest supporter is Vladislavs, with whom she goes on long trips organized by the Day Centre. Recently they visited Tērvete Nature Park. She really enjoyed the walk. Kristiāna is a big fan of animal therapy. In the evenings she watches TV shows and knows the names of each athlete by heart. She knows the name of every single person at the Day Centre, and will keep them in her memory for a long time to come. She is very polite, always saying hello and goodbye. She is not very talkative, but enjoys talking about the things that she likes. She loves to pass time by drawing birds and reading journals or travel brochures. She is very slow and thorough whenever she’s learning every little thing about anything. She will feel gratified, if others enjoy the works she has created.
